This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled in connection with the Streamzo native media-player application, the Streamzo website, support communications, and Streamzo-controlled testing or review services.
Streamzo is an independent native media player. Streamzo does not offer a web-based media player or server-side media-relay service. Media playback is between the user's device and the user-selected service. The optional phone remote operates on the user's local Wi-Fi/LAN and its remote-control commands are not routed through Streamzo servers.
Device / MAC Address
Streamzo allows a user to enter, edit, or generate a MAC address or similar device identifier when required for a user-configured connection. This information forms part of the connection configuration saved locally on the user's device.
When the user initiates a connection, the MAC address or device identifier may be transmitted directly to the third-party service selected and configured by the user when that service requires it for authentication or device identification.
Streamzo does not use the MAC address or device identifier to track users across services, build advertising profiles, sell personal information, or determine what media a user watches. Streamzo does not provide MAC addresses for access to third-party media services.
Using Clear App Data removes the locally saved connection configuration, including locally stored MAC/device-identifier information associated with that configuration.
4. Information Streamzo Does Not Use for Advertising or Content Profiling
Streamzo does not sell personal information and does not use player activity to build advertising profiles. Streamzo does not intentionally maintain a centralized history of the channels, movies, programs or other media a user watches through an independently configured service.
Streamzo does not host or store the content of media streams from normal user-configured connections. Phone-remote commands exchanged locally between the phone and Streamzo player are not collected or stored on Streamzo servers.
5. Website, Support and Streamzo-Controlled Services
When a user visits the Streamzo website, contacts support, or accesses a Streamzo-controlled testing/review service, ordinary technical information may be processed as necessary to operate and secure those services. This may include IP address, request date and time, browser or device information, application version, diagnostic information, security logs, and information the user voluntarily includes in a support request.
Streamzo uses this information for service operation, security, troubleshooting, support, abuse prevention, and applicable legal obligations. It is not used to sell or recommend third-party media providers.
6. Phone Remote — Local Network Only
The optional Streamzo phone remote operates only when the phone and TV or supported Streamzo device are connected to the same compatible Wi-Fi or local area network (LAN).
The QR code displayed by Streamzo is used only to establish the local remote-control connection. It does not provide, authorize or grant access to any media service or content.
Remote-control commands between the phone and Streamzo player are not routed through Streamzo servers. If the phone and TV/device are not on the same compatible local network, the phone remote may not connect or function.
7. PublicMediaVault and App Review
For internal testing, device certification and authorized app-store review, Streamzo may operate a separate demonstration environment such as PublicMediaVault using demonstration media Streamzo is authorized to use for the applicable review purpose. Information associated with reviewer access may be processed as necessary to provide, secure and support that environment.
8. Third-Party Services
Services independently selected and configured by users are operated by third parties and may have their own privacy practices. Streamzo does not control those services. Users should review the privacy terms of the service they choose to connect.
9. Retention and Deletion
Locally saved player data remains on the user's device until it is removed through application controls, operating-system controls, or application removal. Information processed by Streamzo-controlled website, support or review services is retained only as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, security, support and applicable legal requirements.
Privacy or deletion requests concerning Streamzo-controlled information may be submitted to privacy@streamzo.app.
10. Security
Streamzo uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information it handles. No networked or electronic system can guarantee absolute security.
11. Children's Privacy
Streamzo is not intended to be used in violation of applicable laws concerning children's personal information. If you believe personal information concerning a child has been provided to a Streamzo-controlled service inappropriately, contact privacy@streamzo.app.
12. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in the application, website, Streamzo-controlled services or legal requirements. The updated version will display a revised Last Updated date.
